Your Director’s chair can permanently damage your spine

The Director’s Chair looks elegant but is a killer in disguise

Did you know that there are fundamentally 3 types of office chairs? Judging by the looks, you will find that the Director’s Chair would most likely be most suitable because it is supposed to be ergonomic and looks luxurious.

The Director’s Chair is one which usually covers the entire body with a head rest connected to the body of the chair. The biggest problem with this type of chair is that it comes with wheels. If you are seated on a straight-up position, chances are you will not feel tired after long hours but you tend to move around on the wheels. In order to do this, you will use the strength from your waste which can cause sprains and will have long-term effects on your spine due to wear and tear and could be very dangerous for those at risk of osteoporosis.

The standard office chair is type which only covers the lower part of your body. The head rest is usually lower which means your head might not be able to rest on it fully. This type of chair is the worst type if you are to be seated for long periods of time.

The best type of chair that you can use is the wooden ones which will force a straight posture at all times. It might not be the most comfortable and elegantly designed but it is made to give your body a 90 degrees seated position at all times. As such, you will not be able to slouch or push the chair anywhere without standing up.

Among the 3 types of chairs, it is quite obvious that your body and spine will benefit from the wooden chair which is a lot cheaper and better especially in the long-term even if you are a CEO of a multinational company.
