Although the body does not stop developing, it is in the early stages that ensure that there are no complications when the child grows up in the future.

It would be ideal if the daily food intake of the child contains a balances and holistic combination of minerals and nutrients. This is however, not always the case because children do not like to eat everything served to them. As such, there might be a need to give the child supplements to ensure that the body received all the minerals needed for the growing up process.

Kids with ADHD
It has been found that kids with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) have insufficient zinc levels in their body. As such, it has been suggested that kids with ADHD could take zinc supplements in order to overcome this problem. In fact, zinc has been traditionally prescribed as one of the important ingredients for the treatment of ADHD.

Zinc can be obtained from foods like oysters and red meat. However, such foods might not be too popular with children which mean that using zinc supplements might be required for ADHD children. Another supplement that might be considered for ADHD children is fish oil. This is because studies have suggested that the omega-3 fatty acids can regulate better memory skills which help in improving the ability to plan and organize within the child. While fish oil are available from salmon and various types of fish, supplements are available that can supply a sufficient dosage of omega-3 fatty acids for the child.
