Not getting enough sleep will slowly but surely leads to obesity. This is because you will be eating more as a result while some would go for junk food which will add to weight gain. Through this, your body will yearn for more sugar to stay awake which in turn will increase your risk of diabetes.
If you do not get enough sleep each night, you will find that you might be experiencing memory loss in the near future. You will be mostly tired throughout the day while forgetting even the simplest things and find it difficult to stay focused on a specific task for long. Sleep deprivation is found to be related to permanent memory loss because it is during sleep that the brain gets to rejuvenate and refresh.
Another major effect with sleep deprivation is that it will increase your cancer risk. This would be a very dangerous issue to think about because cancer can attack anywhere and at anytime. By getting enough sleep, you keep your body healthy and strong against any growth of these cells that can be fatal in the future.
So it is extremely important that you get enough sleep even if there is a lot to do or when you are stressed so that your body can take a break and press on for the challenges of the next day and to keep going.
