Autism can be a distressing condition for the parent because it means that the child needs special care and attention. Despite this, there is no reason to give up on the child as there are many types of medication and specialists who can help a child with autism.

As such, it is very important to take note of the common symptoms before it is too late. In most cases, the child could have difficulty in social interactions and has certain behaviour that could be deemed as unusual. Motor development meanwhile might be later than usual while some would have very specialized interest areas.

Among the top signs of autism include:

Interaction – The child might find it difficult to interact with other children about the same age. He could be isolated at times and tends to talk to himself

Laughing – If the child laughs for no apparent reason or abruptly, it could be a sign of autism. Check and see if he is thinking of something funny or if he finds normal occurrences like a cat walking funny.

Eye Contact – A child who refuses to make eye contact needs to be attended to. Take note of the child’s eye movements when you are talking to him or her. If the eyeballs are moving everywhere, then you need to have this condition checked.
