Home Remedies to cure a Hangover!


When you drink too much alcohol, the natural effects can be quite distressing. The morning after is when you get the hangover and that is what makes it all the more painful because you will have to nurse the headache. In most cases, you can cure a hangover by taking aspirins but that would only add to your drug dependence. Here are some ways you can do so using natural ingredients.

Water – When you drink alcohol, the natural effect is that it depletes water from your body. If possible, drink water in between intervals during your binge as it can help to dilute impurities caused by alcohol. The next day, drink as much water as you can. Try to avoid caffeinated drinks while taking 1 or 2 isotonic drinks could help.

Peppermint – This helps to aid digestion and relieve bloating caused by alcohol. Make peppermint tea or chew some fresh leaves.

Honey – The wonders of honey is that it comes with a lot of potassium. Fructose is a type of sugar that metabolizes any extra alcohol in your body. If possible, take 3 to 4 teaspoons of honey at 2 hour intervals throughout the next day.

Toast and Egg – Drink a few glasses of water before breakfast, and then prepare a few slices of plain toast with an egg. The carbohydrates you get can speed up recovery while carbon in the toast is a natural filter to channel out the impurities.

Tomato Juice – Tomatoes are very beneficial to health. It has fructose that can metabolize alcohol faster while it has minerals and enzymes to overcome the hangover. Mix tomato juice with honey and lemon with some cayenne pepper.

Banana – Eating bananas will help your body to replenish potassium and boost your energy level which deteriorated due to dehydration.

Lemons – Add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey into warm water and drink this when you wake up. It helps to cure dizziness and nausea.

Ginger – This superfood can cure almost anything. It can reduce nausea and vomiting making it an excellent cure for hangovers. Chew small pieces the morning after or drink ginger tea.

Rest – Ultimately, it would be good if you can sleep through the next day. Do not overdo this as it could make you feel lethargic and more tired in the end.
