Vision

To be an effective, caring and self-reliant NGO in the field of population, family planning and sexual and reproductive health.

Mission

To improve the status of sexual and reproductive health in Malaysia within a strong and resilient family system.

Guiding Principles

The Federation is a not-for-profit organization.

The Federation is not and shall not be controlled by commercial interests and that all its income, commodities, property and other assets shall be applied solely towards the promotion of its objectives.

The Federation will ensure that Member Associations’ family planning, sexual and reproductive health information and services shall be provided strictly on the basis of voluntary acceptance and informed choice.

The Federation will ensure that Member Associations do not permit coercion of any form in family planning programmes.

Philosophy

We believe that:

The Family as the basic unit of society should be protected and developed through policies and interventions.

It is the basic right of individuals to practise family planning because through spacing and timing of births, family health particularly that of mothers and children can be enhanced leading to improvements in the socio-economic well-being of families.

In the provision of various services to different target beneficiaries, we will not discriminate on the basis of sex, politics, race, religion or status. Services will be based on informed choice and no coercion will be used in the promotion of any services.

Sustainable development is only possible when there is a balance between growth and utilization of resources.

We are a voluntary organization whose strengths and assets are our dedicated volunteers from all walks of life who contribute significantly and selflessly to the ideals and operations of the organization.
